Question: What can the Hispanic Chamber do for me – a small business owner?

Answer: The Colorado Springs Hispanic Chamber of Commerce assists small business owners in creating business opportunities by providing business services, programs and access to those that will facilitate the achievement of their goals. Through our relationships with numerous agencies and organizations, the Hispanic Chamber can provide the path to business resources to help build your business. Question: What is a chamber?

Answer: A chamber of commerce is a local association of business people organized to promote the welfare of their community, especially its commercial interests.

Question: Who runs the Hispanic Chamber?

Answer: The President, Board of Directors, and volunteer committees, carry out the work of the Colorado Springs Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Question: How can I join?

Answer: You can join the Colorado Springs Hispanic Chamber of Commerce by calling 719-635-5001 and an application will be mailed or e-mailed to you or by visiting our website at www.hcccs.com.

Question: Are there any requirements to join?

Answer: There are no specific requirements. Anyone interested in building a better Colorado Springs through the growth and prosperity of small, minority, and woman-owned businesses are encouraged to join.

Question: Is there a fee to join the Hispanic Chamber?

Answer: Yes. A yearly investment is required and based on the number of employees in your business. Dues vary for business owners, non-business owners, individuals, students and corporations. The Chamber office can assist you in becoming a member by contacting 719-635-5001.

Question: Can I pay my membership dues with a credit card?

Answer: Yes. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. A 3.0% service charge will be applied to all credit card orders.

Question: When does my membership begin?

Answer: Membership is for 1 year and begins the date we receive payment and a completed membership application.  (i.e. January 1st, 2007 to January 1st, 2008.)

Question: What is requested of me as a member of the Hispanic Chamber?

Answer: A member is strongly encouraged to participate in the programs available and attend as many events as possible. The programs and events are an added value to the everyday operation of a business and help to establish relationships with other chamber members that can provide ideas to improve and grow your business. You can also take advantage of the many discounts are chamber offers our members.

Question: What type of events does the Hispanic Chamber offer?

Answer: The Hispanic Chamber sponsors bi-monthly business luncheons, bi-monthly Enlace Latino (Business After Hours), The Hispanic Gala, ribbon cuttings, and other events that give members opportunities to build connections in the business community.

Answer: All upcoming events are listed on our website and monthly newsletter.

Question: Do I have to be a member of the Hispanic Chamber to attend the events?

Answer: No. However, Hispanic Chamber members do receive discounts on admission to events.

Question: What advertising opportunities are available at the Hispanic Chamber?
