DON'T MISS, THREE DOG NIGHT & SPECIAL GUEST FIREFALL
The Chamber is pleased to announce a benefit concert featuring Three Dog Night and special guest Firefall. This tremendous night of entertainment will take place Friday, March 30 at the Pikes Peak Center, 7:00PM.
From 1969-1974, nobody had more Top 10 hits, moved more records, or sold more concert tickets than Three Dog Night. During this period Three Dog Night was undoubtedly the most popular band in America; 21 consecutive Top 40 hits and 12 straight gold albums. By late 1975, they had sold nearly 50 million records. Since 1986, Three Dog Night has toured extensively. Their records contine to sell in great numbers and they receive regular airplay on radio stations around the world. Come join us and hear Three Dog Night hits, "Joy to the World", "Black and White", "Shambala", and "Mama Told Me (Not to Come)" to name a few.
Firefall is one of the few surviving bands of the folk rock music of the 70s. Today, they remain true to their founding vision and roots. The band trandscends and embraces many industry labels - rock, soft rock, country rock, easy listening, unplugged, Americana and contemporary country. The Boulder, Colorado based rock band saturated the national radio waves from 1976 through the early 1980s selling millions of records and earning two platinum and three gold ablums for their efforts. They have shared stages with some of the great groups of all-time, The Doobie Brother, Lynard Skynard, Fleetwood Mac, America, Chicago, and Bob Seger. Their many hits - "You Are The Woman", "Just Remember I Love You", "Strange Way", "Cinderella", "Mexico", "So Long" and "Goodbye, I Love You". Firefall is as vital and valid as ever, standing out as one of the few remaining torchbearers for harmony-laden rock; a welcome blast from the past focused firmly on the future.
Don't miss a memorable night of entertainment and support the Hispanic Chamber.
BUSINESS WINS ON HB 1072
In a resounding victory for pro-business interests in the state of Colorado, Governor Bill Ritter vetoed HB 1072, which would have significantly amended the Labor Peace Act. The legislation, which would have changed long-time Colorado law relating to business and labor negotiations, would have put Colorado at a disadvantage in recruiting new companies thus impacting the economic vitality of the state. The Governor’s action was driven in large measure by the advocacy of the Chamber constituency in communiqués to the Governor. Chamber CEO Will Temby and Chamber Legislative President Stephannie Finley were front-and-center in the debate, contending that the proposed changes to the legislation would compromise our existing free enterprise system. In a statement Ritter commented, “Over the last several days, I have listened intently to people I respect who worried deeply about the impact this change would have on our ability to attract new business to Colorado to create new economic opportunity for all.” This action was yet another example of your Chamber working on behalf of its membership.
